im wanting to help my friend whos boy is constantly in and out of hospital due to having dravets syndrome. they require a sats machine to monitor him at home when hes asleep incase they fall too low, as well as his heart rate.

anyways, im looking into websites to help manage to money and all of them require commision. being a personal event, id rather just take the money by cash but the idea of posting over facebook for money seems a good idea as not everyone prefers to donate via cash, i know i dont.
can anyone help me with a website that does it totally non commision? ive see the idea of using paypal, building a blog and using that with a paypal donation page?

also wanting to do something abit challenging like ben nevis, although i may have to do this solo? does anybody know any groups that i could join so i could just rock up and climb it with them?

im choosing someone special as the type, filling in the details and choosing funding with other people, due to in being a non organised event im selecting no, selecting the place and time and clicking next, its taking me to a charity page to add my charity in.

do i need to create a charity first or something?

There's lots of groups. You'd looking for an open challenge. Doing an event, means lots of people doing it as well, support and usually way points with water and other facilities.

This does one, but its expensive, I'm sure there will be more companies doing it so have a look, it was just the first one I found. Seeing as youncan do a three peaks open challenge for £350, personally I always do self funded events, as I don't like the idea of people paying for me to do stuff.

As said use virgin as they are a not for profit company. Unlike justgiving. We need more and more people to ditch justgiving.

Oh yeah you won't be able to use such places as it has to be a registered charity. There must be some sites catering for this, but I don't know any. You won't get the tax relief etc.

think my best option is https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/fundraising

think theres not many sites out there due to the fact there is a lot of untrustworthy people who would line their own pockets rather than give to the person in the fundraising. it will be from people i know anyways so ill just direct it to my paypal for acknowledgement of payment then transfer the full amount over to them once done.

yeah, i was just hoping really to do something like ben nevis and i pay for all the petrol, food and water and what not, just tag along with a group so im not solo'ing a mountain ive never been on before and to keep the costs low.

im currently looking into local mountaineering clubs to see if they have anything available. i beleive again, those charity organised events from guide websites would be for charitys only and not personal fundraising
