Hi

What is the total budget?

Is this a new spec you are looking to buy?

X79 is still powerful, but X99 is newer and for gaming you will probably find a Z97 setup cheaper and just as capable.

You are also missing a case.

whats difference between the iv extreme and v

X99 is a new chipset, it uses DDR4.

Only the 5820/5930 and 5960 fit it.

Despite saying socket 2011, it is actually socket2011-3 so the older socket 2011 CPU's do not fit it.

The 5820/5930K are 6 core with Hyperthreading = 12 threads/cores

The big boy 5960X is 8 core with Hyperthreading = 16 threads.

so the 2.5k setup you posted i could also use that for some video edition if i start doing that which im looking into and streaming? also could u help me with a custom water setup i want to use for tubing i want to use acrylic

Water cooling im no good with.

But that last spec is as good as you can get on a desktop unless you go for XEONS and/or dual CPU motherboards.

Did you notice the twin GFX cards too?

also another question i am a noob haha the desk will be similar to competitors swordfish not the same but similar how do i get the cables to power the mb water cooling components etc from so far away?

not bought monitors yet i will leave them to very last i want 3 that looks like a sweet one i was looking at the benq 3d one

Ahh nice either way if its just gaming is there really much to. gain going 6core? and I7 4790k should be more then enough.

Not to great with WC so i'll leave that to someone else but I would start off with something like this, i7, solid case, 2 SSD for games/apps, 2x 980GTX. Enough budget for a really nice custom loop.

well the pc i have now i have had for 6-8 years so im due for a upgrade haha so i thought i might as well spend what i can as i wont be doing it again for few years

I *think* the one used by fallen god uses a reference board - do not link to competitors.

That's a list of the water blocks that can be used with it, and it looks like they are the reference EKWB etc one's, so looks like it is reference indeed
Don't quote me on it though!

i really want it in a desk it is not a problem getting it made but i don't know if its going to be a pain in the ass with wc etc with the far runs

The 5960X and the 5820/5930K don't come with any cooling (whether oem or retail boxed), not even an intel heatsink, so you will need something for that.

The Z97+i7 as it's a retail CPU socket 1150 CPU will come with a cheap stock intel heatsink.

You can have a aftermarket large heatsink (that may mean you desk has to be thick/tall to accommodate a tall 160mm+ cooler).

Or an all-in-one water cooling unit such as a H105/H110.
