Help with heatsinks

My current build is a i5-4670K on an Asus Z87-A motherboard with a Gigabyte GTX 770 and 8GB ram all inside a Corsair Carbide 300R case. I have had this build for a year or so and I'm really looking to change the stock heatsink to a watercooling option.

I recently purchased a Corsair H60 as it seemed one of the only options that would fit my case nicely. However, when I tried to install it I found the bracket for the back of the motherboard didn't align with the holes and therefore I was unable to install it. I have since returned the H60 and would like to find another option.

I would like to know any recommended water cooling options that would:
1) Fit my case
2) Not cost me a packet. I have a budget of around £65-70.
3) Fit my motherboard and not cause too many installation problems.

I thank you guys in advance for any help with my query. :)

it would fit with a drill? in that price range your better off going with an air cooler

Jumper118, with regards to using a drill i haven't attempted any form of modification on the MoBo and wouldn't want to as would it not void the warranty?

Dempsey22, I don't know why it didn't align, the bracket was a bigger square than the one created by the holes on the motherboard. I bought the h60 from competitor and requested a replacement too just to see if it was just the original purchase but the mounting brackets from the replacement did not align with my z87 MoBo either. It has got me baffled because it clearly states it supports the socket type.

sorry i thought you meant the case? i don't see how i can't align unless you are trying to use the amd bracket or something. did you read the instructions?

yes i read the instructions and was using the intel bracket. I dont know why it didnt align with the holes on the mobo.

Thanks for the insight, stulid, maybe I missed something instructions wise. Might have to repurchase and see if they do adjust and get it intalled.

 I didnt even realise this when I went to install. Guess I made a rookie mistake.

Thanks for pointing this out stulid. Guess I will be purchasing a h60 again. Hopefully this time I manage to get it installed. :)

Thanks for the suggestion but I think I'll stick with the H60, unless it is worse off in terms of performance?

When I built this pc, I installed a Thermalright HR-02 Macho CPU Cooler. I had it in for a couple of days but it was quite loud. Had to return it in the end, probably was just that unit, not sure but I didnt bother with a replacement as I didnt want similar issues.

Is air cooling better in terms of for my build?

Upto you.

Water cooler means you dont have a huge chunk of metal in your way, gives a more minimalist look.

That Silverstone thing was £60 (now reduced) and is one of the high end air coolers, th e fan has a a multi speed switch on it so you can have quiet (but still awesome cooling) or louder (and insane cooling).

i have an h60 and i can confirm the intel bracket the 4 corners are adjustable sliders to fit multiple sockets. i think its just the 2011 socket that has its own set of posts and screws.
