help with installing printer

Hi all, ok so i got a kodak printer 3250 and its been working flawlessly for the past few months. but now its decided nope its not gonna talk to the computer!
its started a few days ago just not printing, and now tells me no communication between pc and printer. i have uninstalled driver/software for printer seeing if i reinstall it might solve the problem.
but now i cant even install software, it jsut hangs for hours on the same screen

any help or suggestions pleaseee

Are you using a 32 bit or 64 bit OS?

Have you tried getting the newest drivers off the web or just using the ones on disc? These were all I could find on the Kodak website.

have tried old drivers, latest drivers, clear old install using kodak tool thingy. nothing seems to work! even in safe mode the program seesm to hang.
i know printer is working cos i can copy and print from laptop but its works pc so not bringing laptop to work just to print!!!

no worries sometimes it is the obvious stuff we miss!
so unless i am missing something there is something seriously wrong with the pc.

its being a typical member of staff and cant be bothered to work!!!!!!!

Tried a different USB cable?

Tried a different USB port on the PC?

Tried connecting something else to the USB ports on the PC to make sure they're working?

only thing recently i have done to pc is create new user account for the staff instead of them using admin all the time!

2nd to yes 1st no as dont have another cable

Could it be something to do with an administrator account needed? Have you tried it on the old User accounts? (administrator ones)

Tried a different USB cable?

As it worked on another computer I would have assumed that the lead would be fine but checking the USB slots and trying another might be worth checking?

ok just to be clear, I have tried other usb ports, i have tried other devices in those ports, the printer works on another pc. i cannot install driver/software before/during or after plugging in the printer.
the software just hangs.

even windows descovers a printer being plugged in and tries to find printer drivers but nothing ever happens.

now i did just turn off user account control and try but nothing. i tried again in safe mode with user account control turned off and it installed!!! whoopp BUT going back into standard admin account and windows tries to find printer. and once again install hangs.

Shot in the dark... Try running the installer in compatability mode for XP.

anyone?
i have now realised that it did not install in safe mode! i have tried several times with "unsuccessfully installed"

why cannot i install a simple driver or program, wat is going on?
