I have an LG 32LC56. It works fine except that it insists on adjusting the brightness on its own. It just changes brightness just like that while I am watching it.

The offending 'feature' is called intelligent eye. It is meant to measure the brightness of the room and adjust its own brightness accordingly. Unfortunately it keeps the deciding my room is changing brightness and adjusting. Ironically I think the reason the brightness of the room is changing is when the scene on the TV is bright (i.e. contains a lot of white) reflects off the walls back to the TV. The constantly changing brightness becomes annoying.

I have got as far as reaching the 'Service Menu' where some advanced changes can be made, but the names of the settings are very obscure and its hard to guess what the right one is. Its also dangerous to change the wrong ones as I might ruin the image completely and have no way back.

So, has anyone had to encounter LG's Intelligent (yeah right) Eye and found how to disable it?

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure its one of the service menu options, but the service menu looks something like this;

OPTION1 10768
OPTION2 900
OPTION3 1
etc.

Not easy to know what to do there without a reference.
