Help with London accommodation

Pimpage!

A good weekend to come down and meet a lot of the members who live in (and around) London... Plus there's beer, and a megaphone

Rich_L has given some sound advice and I can add nothing more to it

I know... I do keep thinking about it - only in Oxf at the moment anyway, but that's a crazy two week period for me already

you should also look at council tax dont forget that.

Clapham i think would be good my advice look at stations and how far you would like to travel and if its bus underground or br.

is Kennington actually safe nowerdays ? it seems to have negative conotations for me, In terms of south & times - it takes only about 25mins to get from Richmond to Waterloo, which isnt too bad, at all (but is way longer than you would like anyway)

Charles Kennedy lives on Kennington Road.

People have a lot of misconceptions about South London - you have to be careful wherever you are in London, North, South, East, West or Central.

the crazy drunk lives there, big bonus points, at least we all know the alcohol will be easily available i dunno it just seems to remind me of stabbings for some obscure reason lol

Everywhere South of the river or just Kennington?

I echo lots of the advice already in the thread - in London you can get bad areas and good areas very close to each other. For instance - there are some nasty parts of Islington and Finsbury Park.

Balham all the way!

I recently moved into a 2/3 bed place, paying 1400 p/m.

Balham has both tube and rail links, 30 mins to Bank by tube, 12 mins by train to Victoria.

Holy thread resurrection, but just to say quick thank you - finally found a place which is absolutely perfect (esp thanks to Rich, as rollonfriday led me straight to the front door!). Count me in for London meets
