Hi, I am looking into making a guide for work which i would be able to look for a specific processor i.e pentium Mobile 4 2.8ghz which will then list the best like for like replacments i.e a core duo 1.66ghz. This is really only for laptop processors, Does anyone know of any charts already on the internet or could anyone list what they think would be good replacment for the pentium 4 mobile chips and old celeron chips in laptops?

thanks

Can you clear up - are you wanting to replace CPU's in lappy's or get like for like replacement laptops?
Basically chips will only work in compatible mobo's.
You can't switch a P4-m for a Core2.
You can't switch a Pentium M/Dothan for a core2/core Duo. (Despite them both techincally being 478pin CPU's)
If you've got old celly's which are "dothan"/Pentium M based (ie socket 479) then you could upgrade to a newer Pentium M chip. Just watch FSB/ram speeds.
