Hello,

If anyone could look at the screenshot below and confirm that I have set my memory timings correctly that would be very helpful. I really dont understand them very well and I have no idea if it is all running correctly:

I have

Memory: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-041-GS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517

Mobo: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-366-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1481

I assume the RAM frequency should be showing 1600mhz (which I have set it as in the BIOS) but here is it only showing 800mhz

I also cant figure out how to adjust that FSB:DRAM ratio in the BIOS.

Nice one Snax, that all looks good to me! . . . has the motherboard set the memory up like that from [Auto], it looks perfect to me! :)

I see your running your unlocked processor already, as I mentioned in your other post you should take your time with everything and maybe consider running the new machine completely at stock for a day or two, some gaming, some stability tests, some benches, look at the voltages and the temps, basically give yourself enough time to get the *feel* of things, once that is done you will be in a much better position to start overclocking and unlocking etc . . . . do what you think is best but I hope you have a smooth ride as no one will be able to help you out if you have adjust ten different things, it will be hard to tell what the problem is!

Read the motherboard manual through a few times and give yourself some *BIOS* time, have a nose around and familiarise yourself with a few settings, ease into it and you will have a good time!

Heheh

Thanks BW: I posted this here before reading all the responses in overclocking.

I had the quad core unlock stability tested last night, so I am very happy with that.

I am going to take your advice and run everything stock for a while to see what is what.

The memory seems sorted, now I just have to wait for ATI to sort out their new driver release!

You are correct that tere are so many setting to look at for overclocking; despite having a stable system with 4 cores on auto (asus REALLY need applauding for their BIOS releases) I think that any overclock will need a lot of tweaking with voltages to the RAM, Northbridge and CPU which I am not going to attempt for a while.

I shall keep the overclocking section updated in a couple of weeks when I have a better understanding of the BIOS. I am still in kid in a candy store mode with this PC though :D

Must be really fast with the memory at 800MHz (DDR3-1600) :)

I'd be suprised if that didn't keep you happy for a few days running on full [auto] mode, the board has set-up the memory correctly.

I guess start with some simple Dual-Core CPU Multiplier Overclocking get a feel for how the chip clocks, what the temps are like, does it need any extra vCOre etc, that's an easy enough start . . .

I'm sure there will be scope to *tinker* with the memory/timings soon but I think you got your hands full for the moment! ;)
