Hi all,

Looking to build my ex a minimum spec PC. She's currently struggling with an archaic Pentium 4 that she inherited. Needless to say it takes about an hour for it to open a document, let alone display websites.

Cost is the key element - difficult to name a budget, other than to say that it must be absolute bare minimum. Like ridiculously low! She needs nothing fancy, just a minimum spec machine that can do word processing and browsing. That said, our 8 year old lad lives with her, and loves PC gaming, so if we can squeeze a basic graphics card in, great - but it is not essential.

She needs a monitor, but I can prob try and get a second hand 22 incher off fleabay - A new one would prob take the budget into unaffordable range.

No OS required - have Win7 I can put on it.

Any input most appreciated!

259, although I can't add the gtx 460 to the basket as theres no ETA, however it says theres 5 in stock so you could call and ask, I got one, they are great cards. got it for my brothers budget gaming pc.
If you aren't interested in a higher end card, I'd spend the extra dosh on an SSD. makes it lightning quick. can pick up 60gb drives cheaply now.

Theres a speccy with a great 120gb SSD. If you don't have lots of files to store on it, 120gb is fine. I have around 25 full movies on mine and have 60gb free, after OS. and I have battlefield and diablo 3 installed to it.
for 297, your getting a good spec system with a nice SSD :)
