HELP with my assignment please

hey

well basically i have an assignment to be in in 2 days. Its a literature review and my chosen top is "Fear of crime amonst men and women".

Basically we have to chose 4 books on the topic read them and comment on them and then also gather 6 other references that dont have to be mentioned within the essay.

i have my four books and have read the pages related to my topic.

question is...HOW DO I DO THE ESSAY? :confused:

im confused. a literature review to me sounds like i should be commenting on the books i used but the examples i have are just written like straight essays. no "this book was helpful because..." or anything.

please help

There isnt one.

i just have to conduct research on a topic of my choice using 4 academic text books. then comment on what the books say about my topic.

i just dont know a way to write the essay
 
i would introduce the central themes - make sure you reference properly

then move onto contrasts and comparisons - mention context, intent vs interpretation etc

then make some generalisations and implications perhaps for future literature - ie laying foundations for tradition?

pose a few interesting questions/points of interest

sum it all up with some critique and then conclude

you can either take the reference from the book and pretend you used that book or just reference as normal, saying xxxxx by xxxx taken from xxxx, xxxx - you get me?
