Hey, guys I recently built my pc and in my room I'm using wireless. I currently have the T-Link High Gain: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-023-TP

My signals varies from 3-4 bars on wireless and there's no 5ghz signal. On my mac in the same place I have full bars both on 2.4ghz and 5ghz. Would a PCI card be stronger? Or should I buy a 500mps Power Line adapter? Thing is I don't have a single socket by my PC and I hear they don't work on extension leads.

They work fine in extension leads. What do you think all the Sockets on your wall are? Just circuits in parallel the same as an extension lead. Also doesn't matter how good your extension cable is, your internal wiring will be worse.

Also for Powerline Plugs, I would defiantly get them very useful. However, don't believe the speed they tell you, as a rough rule of thumb I found expect under half of what is advertised.

Long extension leads are not recommended, if you have to use home plugs, use a wall socket.

Trust me I use Home Plugs. The extension stuff is BS, what you think an extension cable is, exactly the same as you have inside your walls. Probably better quality to if you live in an old house. I use a 10m 'reel' extension lead from a wall socket upto my window sill where I plug a Homeplug in which then plugs into another WAP I have. Works perfectly fine for me...

Whether Homeplugs work well, or at all, when plugged into an extension lead is just down to chance.

One person's anecdotal evidence doesn’t make the manufacture’s best advice BS.

Using an extension lead can only add to the total length of mains cabling involved, which can only degrade the signal.
