Hello everyone,
I recently built myself a new computer. I feel I have a fair bit of knowledge but I am stumped at the moment.
When playing games, for example, assassins creed 4, or watching films with Media Player Classic, on occasions the display will freeze, the speakers will buzz for around 4 seconds and then stop. The computer screen stays frozen.
It is sporadic in happening though. Some days I get 2 or 3 freezes, some others none.
The specs are:
Windows 7 64 Bit
MSI 990FXA-GD65 Motherboard
AMD FX8350 with Hyper 212 evo cooler
Corsair Vengence 1600MHz 8GB RAM
Geforce 760GTX 2GB
WD blue 1TB HDD
600W Corsair Builder Edition PSU
I only have two thoughts myself but I think they are not the cause:
1 - I set the bios to use the XMP profile for my RAM, as it wouldnt stick at 1600MHz otherwise, but I believe I should be able to let my RAM do this.
2 - I initially had an OCZ 750W PSU when I built it, but it died after 3 days of use so it got returned. This put me off OCZ a bit which is why I got the Corsair - I am pretty sure it is powered enough as I did the research before I bought it as a replacement.
Any help would be greatly appreciated - I just want to enjoy my new computer without having to restart it randomly!
Cheers
Jake
