So at the end of next month i am planning on getting a new gfx card.
Now i am really stuck on which one to go for.
I have been looking at high end cards in the hope i can go 3-4 years of good gaming with them, but as there is so many choices i am kinda lost.

I haven't set a budget yet,i was thinking i would go a little over £400 on the card. I will also need a new psu to go with the card that you think would fit for me.

Also on a side note i need a new headset :D any opinions on that would be a great help as well.

Thanks

Everything for £400 or is the £400 for the card only?

1 x XFX 750W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Silver' Power Supply £89.99
1 x Corsair Vengeance 1500 Dolby 7.1 Professional USB Gaming Headset £69.98

Don't know a lot about headsets tbh! I think HIS cards are better than MSI for the cooling, but I have card and PSU sitting in my basket already.

either tbh and you wont go much wrong, either might last 2 years, then you can always add another or replace again for same or less even if your lucky, 3 to 4 is too far off

1 x XFX Pro 550W Core Edition '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £54.98

I have been looking more so at the 7970,but would the main reason to go for ati over nvidia be price? i have been leaning more towards the ati in general, yet i havnt ruled out a nvidia either.

:D i was just looking at that myself when i looked back at thread.
yeah i do agree with you on that.7970 does seem to be the best option .

Something like this would be a good setup. Overclock both cards and you should get 7970 performance from both. The 850W psu will give you plenty of headroom as well. Also you get 2 free games with a 7950 card (Not sure if they have a different bundle for buying 2 cards) which you could sell on to recoup some of the outlay.

Total : £591.96 (includes shipping : £10.00).

yeah i was thinking of crossfire, but i would be worried about heat with them both stuffed into a antec 300 case. But would the crossfire of them overclocked get the 7970 ghz performance?

good to hear :D they do seem nice, would they be sturdy?
Thats the problem i have had in past, wire tangled and getting damaged because of that.

They are sturdy and the wire is nicely braided which stops it getting really tangled up. The sounds quality is also fantastic and the surround works very well.

Few notes though:

- The ear pad is a cloth materials not leather
- Its suited for more wider than narrow heads

ahh sounds good, yeah should be ok with the size then :D was more worried about them squeezing my head.
Well they are going on the list, cheers for that .

A single 7950 should overclock up towards a stock 7970 card. Running 2 overclocked 7950's will easily beat a single 7970. I understand what you are saying about the heat issue though, but with the right fan setup and a nice modular psu you should be able to keep it cool enough.

So then what you linked would be the best psu for that set up ?

You could probably get away with a 750W psu, but the extra will give you a bit of headroom for overclocking etc. The xfx is a very good power supply (Seasonic made) and is very good value for money.

Going back to my earlier post just to confirm that if you buy 2 x 7950 cards together you get the following games free with it:

Sleeping Dogs
Hitman Absolution
Far cry 3
New Tomb Raider
Bioshock Infinite
Crysis 3
