Hi

I have a HDMI going to my Motherboard from Monitor and a DVI going from GPU to the Monitor.

I have Power cable going from monitor to wall.

When i turn the monitor on i see the picture for about half a second then the screen goes black

The monitor is a Benq XL2420T and is brand new

Why do you have both motherboard and GPU connected to your monitor?

Chances are the monitor detects the DVI first which brings up the screen and then overrides it with HDMI which has no output because motherboard output is disabled.

Just connect the GPU only. Otherwise go into the monitor menu and select DVI as input.

You only need one of those cables - do away with the HDMI and just use the DVI from GPU to monitor.

So you have onboard graphics and discreet graphics I take it. Go into bios (mb)and disable onboard graphics and make PEG the priority, make sure dvi is connected (graphics card to monitor)and you should be good to go. :)

the onboard graphics automatically disabled when i connected my gpu, i checked bios there and its disabled, im sure its faulty as it doesnt work when i plug my xbox into it via hdmi
