Help with new ssd

Just as the title says really,I have £160 (seems to be a common figure) and im torn between the vertex 4 256gb or a sammy 840.I know the latter is slower but a lot more reliable.What do you guys/girls think?
Forgot to say that i am a big gamer but do not use it for pro use.

Mine has been up 24/7 without a hitch.

Go for the £149.99, 256GB Samsung 830.

The Crucial is inferior these days to the Samsung. The Samsung performs better, costs less, has better quality parts, etc.

But the vertex 4 is a lot faster isnt it? Will i notice in real world is more the point i guess?

and is the 830 better than the newer 840 basic? the 840 pro is out of my price range

The jury's out on the 840 as it uses tlc nand,cheap memory but samsungs own controller gets max speeds from it,how reliable it will be in the long term no one knows yet,the 830 uses mlc nand which is better
