Help with new system

Hi im looking to build a new system it will be the first build I have ever done so dont want to go too mad its only going to be used for gaming and I would like to be able to max all the settings I already have windows 7 64bit home premium and this monitor

I dont really have a budget in mind but want to get an idea of what sort of power I can get for the least amount of money not really an intel fan and think I would like to stick with AMD. Would like to be able to add SSD and Bluray drive in the future but dont think they are needed just now. I currently have a HP pavillion that just is not liking my games anymore and freezes and crashed constantly so just want to get the basic's to get me going now as i cant take any more crashes mid game :mad:

In regards to the spec above, if its just for gaming, the 1090T is pretty overkill. I'd say cut down to a 965 or 955. The money saved from this can be spent on an SSD either now or in future.

Also for a few extra quid you could get the 890GX chipset mobo which will allow you to crossfire should you feel the need to indulge :D

Blu-ray player and expensive CPU cooler will be up to you, though could also be cut down in price perhaps.
 
Thanks for the replys guys hadnt got to look on here in a while due to my current pc playing up. I saw a post from stulid in another thread and have just changed the case would this setup work for me if i needed to use my current 8600 gt, HDD and dvd drive unfortunatly had to spend a big chunk of my budget on something more important.

I would be looking to get a 470/5850 in the future and would like the option to be able to run sli/crossfire if the price of the cards was right

I would for a start look at the 955 just because it can very easily be upped to 965 with little effort at all and for less money!!!

You would need to change motherboard to something with 890 in its name. Some of the older models may say crossfire but but unless it is the 890 onwards then it would not be done justice at all, one card would not be pulling its weight.

The psu while a good one would possibly need more power to allow for crossfire and therefore as its one of the longest living parts may well be worth the upgrade.

Sli is only for intel, while crossfire is intel and am3 compatible.
 
ok cool thats nice to know can anyone sugest a different psu that would be futue proof for crossfire? and any recomendations with regards to the motherboard?

One thing that you need to remember is AMD build (even the ones with motherboard that will run dual-card) would only support Crossfire, but not SLI. So if you want to provide yourself with more freedom of choice between Crossfire/SLI, you might be better to consider a Intel build (i5/i7).
 
my dilema is that from what i understand the i7/i5 is going to eat up a big chunk of cash now if its worth it in the long run then fair enough as I want to hopefully use the system for 3 years before I need to start upgrading bits and pieces in the machine. I mean if its not going to be too long I was going to wait and see what the prices for the 6000 series are like and if too high grab 1 or 2 5970's as hopefully they would have dropped in price. Currently I only play lord of the rings online and aion possibly wow when the expansion comes out but I would like to try some of the newer fps's.
