Ok so BF4 is just round the corner and looking to upgrade my 6950, the question is what do I go with next ? Looking to go sli or single card setup so do I go for the following, have £500 to spend ?

2x 7950
2x 7970
290x single card
2x 280x ?

Or just go single card ? Been tempted with 2 7950 at the price there at but looking for some advice as I will be playing arma 3 and bf4. Also specs below

Ive been debating this for ages now, im after something new between £200 and very tops of £400. Really tempting to wait for new cards(new just seems the best idea in my heart)
So so many people seem to be saying right not get 2x 7950 which is very tempting but for some reason i cant take that step yet!
Good luck deciding its killing me!

Missed the asus 7970 direct cu II top the other day for £225 with 3 free games

Or yesterday's 7950s for £185

Yip having the same dilemma waiting for BF4 and Elders Scroll Online........

Why do we have to have so many choices to choose from:(:(:(:D

Wait it out for the 290X fellas, It will be released very soon and you we will all be a little wiser on what to go for.

On saying that, that Gigabyte 7990 is a peach of a price and could well be worth just buying now (it will not stay at that price).

Asus HD 7970 Matrix Platinum today only at £250!!

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAGGHH the temptation! I have already decided to wait fore the R9 290 (not the 290X) anticipating them coming in at under £400 and around 20-30% faster than the 7970 (since they are suppose to be around same level performance as GTX780)...

I think the decision is much easier for most people with 60Hz 1920 monitor, but I got a 120Hz monitor....and the extra 20%-30% performance could mean in a game which a 7970 does 70fps, the 290 would be doing around 84-91fps, which would be much more ideal...

Well the problem I am having if I buy 2 7950 or 7970 it's going to be quicker than the new cards surely if got just one single new and card like the 280x ? Not 100% on crossfire so if I am wrong please correct me ? Or is it worth waiting and getting 2x 280x ? Or just 1 290x ( can't afford 2 )

Hmmm I thought they would drop the Platinum price straight after I ordered the MSI lol.

If your budget is £400 then you could get corssfired 7950's with change left over, which would (probably) beat the 290x (obviously we don't actually know yet) although it won't have TAT built in.
