Just seeing how much this can be clocked on air as i'm thinking of selling it and want to see what it can do before i sell it.

I have a Asus P5W Deluxe board.

I've changed the FSB to 324 now and have it running at 2.92ghz

But in cpu-Z it says core speed 1946.8 MHZ?

Same with OCCT but as soon as i do the test it goes up to 2.92 in OCCT and says stable for over a hour

Is this correct i also upped the core voltage to 1.25.

Thanks.

Do you have SpeedStep enabled in the BIOS? If so, your core speed will drop during idle periods in order to save power. If you want maximum performance all the time, disable it.

Yeah i have just done that and it's stil the same?

Also i ran it up to FSB334 (3GHz) and it loaded up windows but then restarted it's self?

Ok the max i can go to is FSB 332 and the voltage up to 1.3. As soon as i try to go to FSB 334 the computer won't boot up and i just get a black screen?.

Do i need to change my memory settings or something?

Any adivce please?

Thanks.

You will need around 1.3-1.325 to get 3gig stable and 1.325-1.35 to get 3.2gig... the chip should be fine upto around 3.5gig at 1.45 but you'll need around 1.55 to get 3.6 stable which is a big push and needs a decent cooler.

For testing the CPU OC just set the memory to 1:1 with the FSB so at 333 the memory is running at 667MHz.

Lastly I've never found the Asus P5W Deluxe that great for overclocking.

Ok seems much better now have 333fsba nd upped my voltage to 1.35.

But as for the memory bit i have no idea where to find that in the bios i couldn't see anything??

Thanks.
