Hi people
Had my 4670k a few weeks now and having problems overclocking it. Suffice to say its a little different to my old i5 750.
I keep getting BSOD or freezing in games. And when starting minecraft (of all games!!!) for example the first time I run my computer it stutters and I get poor FPS like I am running an AMD K6 or something . Reboot and its fine for about 45 mins till it BSOD or freezes.
Ive tried different settings following the Haswell overclocking guide and got no where with 4.4GHz, 4.2 GHz and currently I am trying 4GHz which I am really not happy about. 4.6 and 4.8 just wont even boot.
If I post my settings would you be willing to give me some pointers please?
My Spec:
Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz
Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z97 Intel Z97
Corsair Hydro H100i
TeamGroup Xtreem LV 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C10 2400MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (TXD38G2400HC10QDC01)
GTX 680 Stock
750watt Corsair PSU.
Ive tried anything between 1.2v to 1.4v and high and low RAM speeds and I cannot for the death of me get the thing stable.
Temps dont exceed 70oC under Full Load with Prime 95. Current settings are returning 60oC.
Right now Im running:
4GHz, 1.25v, ram is set at 2000mhz. 1:1
I can post screenshots or pics of the BIOS settings if you want? Bit stuck here as there doesnt seem to be much info available on overclocking with my motherboard........ Tempted to send it back or upgrade to the new CPUs and see if they are any different. OR get a motherboard thats been proven to overclock well like the MSI's in the reviews.
