Hi daveip I have yeah but I'm not sure if I have the settings right because it doesn't bsod but it's still very slow on start up and programs become unresponsive. The ram seems to be eaten up or not running at it's potential. sandra says memory bus speed exceeds chipset rated speed reduce fsb/memory multiplier...I think I've been looking at this too long and just cant see it clearly anymore to know what to do.

Nah it's a samsung spinpoint f4. I've had these problems since before I got this hdd. That was my first thought and that's why I changed hdd.

I'll try catch the bsod code next time it happens.

Ah I hope it's not the sata ports dying, I wont be able to afford any new parts for a while :(

Do my bios settings seem right?

I've only got 4gb. I thought the settings were ok but sometimes I've noticed the ram gets set to 1333mhz without me touching anything. Is this a problem with the p8p67?

Ah ok I see, I'm not sure at all what to do with it. I've not had a bsod now since starting this thread, typical but if one occurs I'll post it. Does anyone see anything that might make my pc slow because it really is. Start up takes forever and transferring files via usb takes ages etc.

I got another bsod...
