Afternoon all.

Woke up this morning with this at my letterbox  Can anyone confirm that it is genuine before i hand over the money, as it is not from the council?

Or shall i just forget about it?

Bin it. It's not a council one and is clearly labelled a "parking charge" which can only be enforced against the driver of the vehicle, not the registered keeper (and they are unlikely to have proof who was driving).

I love how the instant reply to these threads are 'bin it', I wonder if anything ever comes of them?

In my opinion, if you're on private ground which is clearly mark as a pay and display area with a well known brand such as NCP then you're liable like the rest of us. You can't just park where ever you like and expect to just bin every ticket you get if it's not council, surely?

You can ignore it. It is an invoice and not a fine. Contract is with the driver and not the registered keeper. There is no requirement to give details of driver (yet) and their photo's do not show the driver.

They will send threatening letters and use terms like court, additional fees, debt collection and baliffs but nothing will come of it.

It is mere an underhand company trying to extort a large amount of money out of your for either 0 actual or minimal loss.

You parked your post in this thread which was listed as being a finable offence. It does not matter that the signs are hard to see, by parking your post here you are now liable.

£90 or £45 if paid within 30milliseconds. If you do not pay I may trace you and debt collectors may incure you costage.

Yours Lovingly,

If they contacted him and said "You overstayed by half an hour....you owe us 50p" then fine.

But a £90 fine is neither fair nor proportional. So as far as Im concerned, until they stop with the extortionate fines and threatening letters, they can stick it.

Just went on Athena ANPR's website, the front page of which goes on about increasing revenue streams for your business, including a lovely graphic of a camera/car/bank note....

Shifty dude, yes you can.

They have no more right to demand £90 from the OP than I do. Its called living by the sword, you cant go around effectively extorting money with menaces, invoking non applicable legal terms to your demands and then have any complaints what so ever when people use the same kind of tactics to avoid your "fine".
They havent lost £90 worth of revinue in the half hour he occupied that space for, ergo, they cant demand he re-emburses them that figure.
So they can **** off.

Its a service contract, if I come round and paint your house, for a charge of £50, then you ask me to do your shed for you, but dont ask the price, I dont then have the right to charge you £7000 to do it.
