Hi, i've decided to take the plunge and get an i7 920.Its been ages since the last time i looked into buying new pc parts, still running my 3800 dual core (939) from 5 years ago.

Anyway, looking for a midi case without a window that i can easily fit an ATI 4870 or 4890 into, has 1 120mm fan in the rear of case and 1 120mm fan for HDD's in the front and the psu is placed at the bottom left.A 120mm fan on top (above cpu socket) would be great as well.

Also looking for a noiseless PSU in the 700-800w neighborhood.I am only gonna have 1 dvd drive,2 hdds, the ati gfx and 2-3 case fans but i'd still like a high wattage PSU.

To summarize : spacious enough for a 4870 or 4890,1 120mm fan in rear,1 120mm fan in front, no window or side fan PSU bottom left of case ,1 120mm fan above cpu (optional), noiseless 700-800w psu.

I am aiming towards a very silent running pc so it doesnt really matter if the case fans supplied with the case are silent but it would make things easier and slightly cheaper.

Thanks in advance for any info :)

PS: Build quality of the case is a factor ofc, particularly in terms of silent operation but not too fussed if its gonna be heavy of not.

The Antec 300 isn't really a silent case, the Antec 182/183/193 are the ones to go for if you want silence.

Antec Signature Premium 650W Power Supply
or
Corsair HX 750W ATX (already mentioned)

But this all depends on your budget?

antec p182/3 and i would stay away from power supplies with 80mm fans go for a corsair.
All comes down to budget really but I get the impression you are only looking to spend £60-£80 on a case ?

i am looking to spend up to £200 for both the case and psu.

i am gonna look through the list of cases now, ideally i am looking for a plain case ;no lights,no color fans,as long as it fills the criteria of my first post its gonna be great.

i like the look of the p183 antec that sasahara mentioned, gonna see if i can stretch my budget for both the p183 and the corsair hx 750w.

can anyone with the p183 comment on the noise lvl of the supplied fans(tricool ones)?

Moving the top fan to the front intake seems to be the best config.

The Antec CP 850W Modular Power Supply is also worth considering as it's been designed for the P1xx series. It's effectly a fanless PSU, with a fan bolted on the outside, that extra space inside the PSU helps a lot with air flow.

Seem to be up there with the Signature Series, I suspect they've made it cheaper as it only fits their cases. :D
