Hi all
I’m looking for recommendations for pillows, for the bed.
I’m a side sleeper and I’m really struggling to get comfortable these days, I sleep on my left side usually but if I turn over to my right side during the night, I wake up with a bit of a sore neck.
I keep buying pillows when I’m out and about, to try and get comfortable, most get used for a day or 2 and then stuffed in the cupboard, I try the new pillows, and mix them up with my old pillows, I just can’t get comfortable, they feel either too high or too low, I can’t find the sweet spot.

Anyone else had issues finding pillows or anyone have any recommendations for pillows?

My old pillows are flat and not puffed up which then sink when you lay on them, the other day is the first time I was able to get a flatter pillow but there was still some give in the pillow which is a bit better but I’m still not happy with it, I would like to find some flat pillows but really struggle to find them.
Does anyone have any recommendations please?

Many thanks

And

Happy new year!

As insane as it sounds I bought a tempur mattress for about £2k.. The misses tricked me into it, but they gave us 2 free pillows, which I thought nothing of.

They are amazing. You can smash them up, scrunch them into shape, they are cool, soft and I only need 1 not 2.

However here's the crux, they're £75-100 a piece. I know. I know.

Doesn't sound like what you are looking for but I swear by hotel pillows - good quality ones, Silent Night as a minimum, cheap ones will go lumpy in months. There are also the Night Comfort ones which are highly rated but I've not tried them myself.

Same, I love mine.

I had similar issues and bit the bullet a few years ago to buy a good quality pillow. Best thing I ever did.

Dunlopillo latex was the best I came up with - it's heavy and doesn't lose its shape.

As the saying goes, spend good money on your bed and your shoes - you're usually in one or the other.

My mum's a physio, and courtesy of her I grew up sleeping with an orthopedic pillow. They have a lump at the front to support your neck. I'm now almost 40, and still sleep better on one of those than anything else. I'm also a side sleeper.

They used to be pretty expensive but you can get cheap ones from Amazon now which do the job. The brand I'm using is called "Comfycozy" and it's about £25.

If you want something similar from someone more reputable, Dusk sell one (the "contour pillow") for £40

Thanks for your replies all, and thanks for the recommendations.
I’ve tried many types of fillings in pillows, hotel type, usually from either Costco & bedding stores, I usually have a squeeze on them and then decide to try it but they never feel quite right.
Haven’t tried orthopaedic, latex or even memory foam, maybe that is something I can try next.

Talking of mattresses, I decided to look into when I got my bed, and it’s 10 years this month, so I think that is also something I need to replace this year to help improve my sleep.

Thanks again all

I'm the same and develop a frozen shoulder type problem over a number of months.

Realised it was my pillow that was causing the pain. I got an ergonomic pillow like (similar to Tempur Ergonomic). This cured the pain as it supports the area between my chin and neck well.

I'm also a side sleeper, and I've invested in some pricey pillows historically - namely Goose down pillows, the firmer ones with a firm core and down outside of that. I still felt they compress too much with the weight of my head so last week I bought a Tempur Cloud pillow (medium) and I've had incredible night's sleep since.

I would recommend going to one of their stores if you can, or John Lewis and trying the different levels of firmness.
