I have recently finished building a new computer, but am having a bit of a problem.....
The power switch on the case dosnt seem to be working properly, sometimes it will work, sometimes it wont.
Im not sure if this is due to a problem with the case (antec P180), the power supply (Tagen 480W) or perhaps even the motherboard (Gigabyte GA-K8N-Sli).
Ive tried reconnecting the switch to the motherboard a few times.
The strange thing is that to get it to work you have to turn the power at the wall off then on again and try the switch again.
Anyone any ideas?

The switch has deffinately been plugged in the right way round?

Rofl, sorry mate but that was just funny to read :)

Make sure the cable hasnt been bent near the end and is sitting relatively straight on the board.
Unplug and replug and see how it goes.

Switches work both ways around. It's LEDs that don't. :)

I'd guess mobo or PSU problem for that if pulling the plug (temporarily) fixes it, but I'm no expert.

Doh!, My mistake :( Anyway, ive got an excuse.. ive got flu, so im not thinking clearly. Maybe the wire comming off the switch is slightly damaged/loose.

here is how it should look

Try using a screwdriver to short the pins to turn the pc on.

If it works fine for a few startups then you know your switch is faulty.
