I'm currently assembling my first PC. PSU is an EVGA Supernova GS 550w and GPU an MSi GTX 970. The GPU needs a 6-pin and an 8-pin power connector. Can these be on the same PCI-E cable (just plugged into VGA1 on the PSU) or do I need to use 2 separate PCI-E cables from the PSU? (i.e. one plugged into VGA1 and other into VGA2)
The PCI-E cables that came with the PSU seem to have two 6+2pin inline plugs on them, I could therefore connect one as an 8 pin and one as a 6 pin, using only one cable? Would this work?
Newbie question I know, but help appreciated!
Thank you!
