Hi, i have an Elegoo Neptune 4 Plus.

Just recently, i am having terrible trouble, on this photo either side of the red line is not sticking to the plate (not being squished at all) whereas the middle is too squished.
I have manually calibrated, auto levelled etc - if this was a levelling issue I can't see how BOTH sides are out.

Please help!

Have you cleaned the build plate? I'd take the build plate off the machine and clean it with warm soapy water and make sure it's fully rinsed and dry.

Yes have done that, it certain it isn't a plate issue - the print head is just laying it gently on either side whereas in the middle its pressing it into the plate. What's made this worse now is that Elegoo asked me to update the firmware, now I can't even level it as everything is back to front, you press position 1 and it moves to position 3. I'm at the end of my tether with this thing (when its not working properly haha)

Looks like either something is stuck under your bed or it's warped to me, check that there is nothing stuck to the back of the bed or the magnet it sits on, if that is clear get a straight edge (metal rulers are good for this) and place it across the bed and shine a light the from the back of it while you look to see if there are gaps, used to happen all the time on the Ender 3's at work and you'll need to either shim it to bring it back to something relatively flat or take it off the machine and bend it back which is actually fairly easy to do once you have the technique for it.
