Ok so i've got the setup in my sig and i need to get a new PSU for the 5870 as i've got a HE-550W atm .

Now here comes what is confusing me because my current case (http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/index.cfm?reviewid=8&pn=2)

is a mesh one which was bought by my dad about 4 years ago and surprisingly enough it will fit the 5870 because the HDD bays dont take up a lot of room.

So i am getting this psu which you can feel free to critisize on but its not what i want help with

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-032-OC&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=

I would really like to spend 50 quid on a case but will stretch to 80 as i feel im going to have to since I dont know what cases the 5870 are going to fit into , would be nice if some ppl that posted had a 5870 with a specific case that fits my needs :P, thanks.

Ohh yeh and i forgot to add i have a tuniq tower so this can get in the way of external fans on certain cases.

Your HE-550W is fine for you PC with a 5870 Card.

I run an E8400 with 8gb Ram and 4 HDD and a 5870 and my 36A(+12v) PSU isn't even pushed. The HE-550W has 42A on the +12v.

That must be a driver/software Issue, the 5800 series underclock when not being used for 3D stuff. They only use around 30W on when running 2d desktop stuff. (Unless there is a fault with the PSU) :)

yeh thats what i thought it was and i really thought the guy was wrong when he said it was lack of psu power , yet i told him maxed out on games it ran fine , i will take it into account but i still wouldn't mind a new case and psu (especially since its modular), mine is an absolute mess and i've had it for 4 years :P.
