Hi people
I have acquired a gd07 from silverstone and I have a corsair 620 psu and a spare ssd already.
I need a motherboard, cpu, ram and graphics card only to run modern games quietly at 1080p and 60fps.
Max budget of £300 if possible no preference to intel or amd.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks

This what I'd do for £300:

YOUR BASKET
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan GOLD 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLYED38G2133HC11ADC01) £49.99
1 x **B Grade** Gigabyte Z87-D3HP Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX (MB-437-GI) £41.99
Total : £101.58 (includes shipping : £8.00).

+ Second-hand i5 Haswell (£100)
+ Second-hand 280X/770 (£100)

Everything new (except for B-Grade mobo):

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-4460 3.20GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £154.99
1 x PowerColor AMD Radeon R9 285 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £139.99
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan GOLD 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLYED38G2133HC11ADC01) £49.99
1 x **B Grade** Gigabyte Z87-D3HP Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX (MB-437-GI) £41.99
Total : £396.56 (includes shipping : £8.00).

A semi-passive GTX 960 would be quieter but slightly more expensive.

Thing is you want an i5 for those games really, Dayz and GTA V in particular. So for the budget best to go second-hand for some things.

and he'll also need a replacement cooler if he wants to keep it quiet, but his case supports up to 135mm tall, so choice is limited,
this looks promising
Raijintek Pallas 140mm Low Profile CPU Cooler £33.95
(mmm shopping cart applet stopped working)

Thanks for the advice guys.
Ive been offered a cheap z77 motherboard by asrock that reviews well for £30 so this has thrown up some new possibilities as well

You could get a 3570k or 2500k for that board then, they are generally less than £100, which leaves you a juicy £170 for a graphics card, RAM, cooler :)
