Can anyone help me with my RAID configuration?

I have 2 HDD's that were previously set up to work as a RAID 0 pair.
The PC in which they were installed bit the dust .. so I have built
a new PC (OS XP SP2) and installed an Ultra ATA/133 PCI card.

Unfortunately I can not remember how I configured the RAID drives in the
old system .. was one a Master the other a Slave? .. both Master's?
So, I have tried all ways but can not get the drives to be recognised!
Do I need to run the RAID utility that comes with the PCI card? ...
I am wary of doing this as I do not want to loose the data on the RAID
disks.
A RAID array can be moved from one pc to another, right?

Can anyone give me any good advise ... configuration required etc ..
or .. point me at some literature/web sites ...

Any help will be appreciated.

Only if you use the same controller.

In this case it would appear you've lost the array. RAID levels are not a universal standard, and each manufacturer implements them differently, even from one model to another.

The only chance you have is to transplant the array in the correct order to an identical controller (ie. a motherboard with the same chipset, or the same IDE controller on a PCI card that you used before). Even so this is a long shot, as the controller you used after your first PC died will probably have written some data, and so corrupted the array.

I'm no RAID expert, but there are a few on here who I'm sure will be able to give a better explanation or suggestions.
