Hello there
I have just received my 2 raptor 150 gig drives and i need help setting up raid 0.
My questions are
There are 2 ways to setup raid on the ud5 motherboard which one should i choose?
Which sata sockets should i plug into?
I have 4 other back up hardives to go in as well can i install them at the same time as the raptors or after setting up my raid 0?
Can i use a spare 160 gig to back up my raid 0?
All help is welcome Cant wait to see the difference :)

Use the Intel ICH10R cont. (6 blue SATA ports), connect your Velociraptors to SATA2_0 and SATA2_1, enable RAID in BIOS, then exit, hit CTRL + I to enter RAID BIOS and set up your array, exit and install Windows, when Desktop appears install Intel chipset software installation utility and Intel Matrix software, then attach your other 4 HDD to the other for Intel SATA ports...

Also read the manual...

hi there thanks for your reply. Bought my pc end of last year from overclockers. I7 920 o/c 4 gig,ud5 ,4870x2 just fitted the Xtreme cooler, 6 gig of corsair ram , corsair 650 watt and a haf 932 case. Upgraded from the first pc i built over 10 years ago because of leaving medium format to digital photography. That pc was a athlon slot 1 800 mh
asus 32 meg 6800 graphics which came with electronic 3d glasses. 512 ram which cost a fortune then and the very latest massive 40 gig maxtor drive and soundblaster sound card , Huge 19" monitor and a epson scsi 1200 photo scanner. Had people coming from miles around to see it. Still running on xp today! That was the last time i built a pc so I,m a little rusty ;)
