hey ..newish to all this pc building lol so just after some advice ....i got a aorus z390 pro wifi super cheap along with a 9900k ...had a rog z270 with 7700k before
i think from testing and swapping around only b1 and b2 ddr4 slots work. pc does not boot just goes round in a loop turning on and off id any ram is in slot a1 and a2 ... so can only run my 2 16gb in b1 and b2 slots in single channel is this a problem? so i still have 32gb ram in single channel ...looks for help advice what to do .....get a new mobo so can run my ram in dual channel will it make much of a difference any info will be help full cheers danny

Not what you want to hear but you thought about selling the 9900k they are worth more second hand than their performance warrants, then buying a 5700x + mobo or 12600 + ddr4 mobo.

I should imagine that even with single channel memory you'll find that performance is stronger than the 7700K in the vast majority of games, so long as you have a decent graphics card and don't play at a low resolution.

You might want to check the motherboard pins and the CPU cooler mount.

i have read about bent pins or there could be a problem with the cpu or could be the MoBo dont no where to start

Yup, it could be all of the above and add faulty ram slots into that mix too, so start by taking your CPU out as Tetras says and check for bent / missing pins, you can also have a look at the motherboard PCB between the CPU socket and RAM slots for any scratches, check the RAM slots for any missing or bent pins, also look at the CPU itself for any scratches on the PCB part, I de-lidded an Intel haswell once, I got a tiny little nick on the PCB, back then de-lidding was done with a hammer and a vice, it never ran dual channel again.

After all of that, if it bothers you not being able to run dual channel then its a new CPU and/or Motherboard.
