Basicaly i bought something online with my credit card £414 what turned out to be faulty, so etailer ( not Ocuk ) had stuff collected from me by courier, but now instead of refunding to my card they want to send me a cheque.

Is there any problems with this? or should they be refunding the original card?

Thanks

I'd normally expect to be refunded the same way you paid, perhaps they don't have the facilty to refund you that way. Chq is ok but will take longer. Perhaps ask them why chq?

seems odd ive only ever known refunds to be by whatever original method was used but i doubt theres a law saying no cheques.

maybe they are struggling financially

At work when giving refunds I've always only been allowed to give card transaction refunds onto card. Possibly a legal obligation, possibly company policy.

i think they prob have to refund you by card due to the t&c on credit card company with them. you are ment to be refunded on to your card or you are basicaly getting cash for which has higher intrest rate on most credit cards etc.

as above I always thought buy with CC refund goes onto CC.
Due to the fact that if you went to cash point and pulled cash out with yer CC they normally whack on a higher interest rate.
That and possible money laundering?

This is what I am thinking.

By sending you a cheque, it will be helping out with their cash flow.
