Hey had this TV for about a week and pretty happy so far although I can not get decent black levels.

My current settings are:

Mode: Standard
Contrast: 80
Brightness: 45
Sharpness: 47
Colour: 50

Colour tone: cool 1
Energy Savings: Medium

So if anybody can help me out with that I would be greatful. Anyway when I first had the TV I entered the service menu to disable dynamic contrast but now I can not access it. The TV is not in shop mode and I am entering the code correctly.

Getting decent black levels with LCD depends on the level of ambient (room) light. Too little room lighting allows the backlight bleed-through to make "blacks" look grey.

After much fiddling (including calibrating with the DVE test DVD), I settled on the following for my R51:

72 Contrast
53 Brightness
30 Sharpness
42 Colour
Normal Tone

Dynamic contrast and brightness sensor off.

With the lights dimmed, the black level is perfectly acceptable.

70 Contrast
53 Brightness
50 Sharpness
55 Colour
Normal Tone
Dynamic contrast on and brightness sensor off.

Found this to be best setting's for Sky HD

I have other setting for xbox 360

80 Contrast
60 Brightness

I have the 40" version
