Help with server for network degree.....

Sicknote if you are doing a completey dedicated Networking course i think you might find GNS3 helpful. It just means you don't have to go out and buy a load of Cisco (Networking hardware), but you can still build networks a learn about networking protocols.

But in my experience there aren't many pure Networking Uni courses. My Uni course was Computer Systems & Networks, so it is usually coupled in with different subject like programming.

Hope this is helpful.

@NDJ88 - I graduated in 2011 with a 1st in a different subject (Computer Aided Design) but have lost all interest in it to be honest. Not entirely sure what sort of course I want to study, that's the problem. Programming I struggle with. What books did they recommend you buy?

@CrazyMonk - Thanks for the GNS3 tip. The Uni just the road from me offers a dedicated networking course....not the best of Uni's though.

I only know of the networking courses offered at a few universities, but maybe if you post a link to the course the syllabus might shed some light on the content?

What do you want to do at the end of the course? This may help you decide on a course?

If you're unsure, then perhaps a less specialised course might be better so you can specialise further down the road???
