help with setting up for 02/be

I'll need some help with my router when I get connected to 02 on wednesday, how easy is it to actually use my existiong netgear DG834g instead of the o2 box. can someone give me so settings & a procedure so I can print it out... not to good with routers at all but I know I dont like the thompson stuff (home hub & the 585v6 gave me crap)

I was gonna use their router for afew day to start with but do I need to install their cd as I really dont want isp software on my machine, I remeber how bad freeserves/AOL rubbish was
