Help with signal loss

My graphics card and my monitor are a couple of months old and have been running fine when in the middle of a game the signal cut out and the monitor went blank. I could hear the sound of the game for a few seconds and then the sound went a bit crazy and the game seemed to freeze behind the blank screen.

At this point holding down the power button would not switch it off. I have to flick the PSU switch to turn it off. This has happened a few times including when the system is idle and doing nothing. My temperatures at idle are in the low 30's for both cpu and gpu at idle and even when gaming they often don't get out of the late 40's so it is not that.

I was using the 12.3 drivers from the off and either this morning or yesterday an automatic message came up to install 12.4. I said yes yet when the driver installed my system still said 12.3 afterwards. Anyway in case it was a driver issue I uninstalled my drivers in safe mode and reinstalled my old ones yet it still happened. I then installed 12.4 from the official site and it is still doing it so I doubt it is that.

Anyway currently I cannot play a game for 5 minutes without the signal being lost and nothing can bring it back.

Can anyone please help me understand the problem?

Your system ain't happy.

The CPU and GPU are at stock speeds so there shouldn't be an issue unless one if faulty.

Which particular make/model of RAM do you have?

What speed, timings and voltage are you running it at?

My RAM is Corsair vengeance LP blue 1600mhz running at 1.5v 9-9-9-24.

Everything has been fine until now. I am currently boot scanning for viruses but I doubt it is that.

Hi,
Hmm try taking the gpu out and put the dvi or VGA cable in the inboard igp and see if that will fix it of so the gpu needs to be replaced or rma

My computer does this but very rarely, I used the bsod viewer program (can't remember what it's called) and I was able to check the files that it showed on Google to find out that my gpu is on it's last legs.

My boot scan found 2 viruses although I doubt they were relevant. They were deleted.

If it happens again today I will do that. I really hope that is not the case as it is new and has never been over stock voltage. It has just passed 30 minutes of MSI Kombustor with temperature no higher than 66 and there was no signal loss. Hopefully that is a good sign.
