help with slogan + general info re: open source

[freshy]

Hi there,

I am currently working on an assignment where I have to create a web campaign for a certain issue - the marks are related to the application and rationale behind it and so any help I obtain will contribute to my thought process but is not directly 'getting you to do my work'.

My idea is to create a site (another I am sure you might add) informing the general public about the merits of the open source movement. I mean in terms of software and knowledge rather than direct code.

So basically I want to increase awareness of there being free quality alternatives to paid services.

NOW - here is where I need some good souls to help;

Can anyone think of a slogan than matches the details explained - I was thinking of using open source: a viable force.

Any suggestions? What do you think of it?

Also - can anyone offer any advice or resources on this concept.

Can you fill me in and point me in the direction of some open source initiatives currently in progress that fit this remit roughly.

Hope you can help, and would appreciate your input.

Thanks people - Freshy

Picture the scene, lots of protesters with big signs, they chant:

What do we want?

Opensource software as this is often more useful than commercially developed products.

When do we want it?

SOON
