Help With SSD Evo 850

My Evo has a constant 100% activity. It's a new ssd which I am using to store Origin games and steam games. Win8.1 is sitting on its own 250gb SSD. I have two processes using the hd's and they are both 0.1% usage

I have no idea why this is happening any ideas?

I've stopped hd indexing and have restarted the pc 3 times and its the same.

just an update I switched off the PC now windows won't start it just gets stuck on the splash screen. I am now going to disconnect the evo to see if that's the problem.

might be worth checking that system restore is not enabled on the drive as well.

I have a 850 evo and haven't had any issues getting it working.

what do you have installed on the drive? windows 8.1 should have disk defrag disabled but might be worth checking it is disabled.

what motherboard? latest bios?

ProcessMonitor should show you what's accessing the drive.

Windows resource monitor might be able to tell you aswell, can't say for sure because I'm on W7.

Disconnecting the drive worked and it is working fine.
