Help with the purchase of a new soundbar

I have the 2700 and mine sounds fantastic. I had a Sonos setup before which I thought was crap and was returned. Tbh the only complaint I have about the 2700 is every now and again it likes to switch itself back to the ARC channel on its own.

I’m still fascinated how it does surround sound just as good as my old dedicated 5.1 setup...

I heard the Bose and never really liked it at all same as the Sonos so we opted for the Dali Kubic One and the Dali Sub and it blows the sono's and Bose out the water fantastic bit of kit

I find the Yamaha YPS 2700 is lacking in the mid bass range which is what gives it that hollow sound, that and the overly loud bass.
Did you keep the 2700?
I've been reading up on this unit, may get one. Advice is that the sub handle a lot of the mid range and so it need to be placed out front and facing into the soundstage. It can't be tucked away behind something as it doesn't really supply the really low frequency stuff that is perceived to be non-directional.

The sub pretty much does all the mid range and definitely needs to be facing out towards your seating area for best results. It still goes really low and can make my walls shake if cranked up. If you run the sound bar without the sub it sounds horrendous....

Once setup right it gives superb results and the audio projection and sound width is fantastic.

Still got mine yeah, really impressed with it. It won’t blow your mind but it’s a soundbar, I don’t want for anything more.

The sound from the sub covers a wide frequency range as mentioned. Mines placed beside a sofa facing in to the room but right in the corner, it works well but could probably be better placed.

All sounds very encouraging. Now I’m wondering whether to chance a manufacturer refurbished unit, it’s £100 cheaper but with a two year warranty instead of three.

You need the sub facing you at the front to get the best results really.

How would the sub work if it was facing forwards but behind an open glass tv stand?

No idea ideally you want it facing forwards and free from obstruction for the best results. If I turn mine sideways it sounds crap.

Mine is sat just to the side of my tv unit facing directly at my seating position and it works perfect.

Thanks for the reply. Hmm I've not really got space at the side of my TV stand for it, was hoping it would be ok behind the tv. Maybe back to the drawing board.

It might be ok without trying its hard to say really. If I turn the sub away from my seating position it sounds noticeably worse. As it handles far more than just low bass you can’t really hide it away like a traditional sub woofer.

samsung models are highly thought of.

BOSE isn't by anyone other than for their noise cancelling headphones and the sound system in the nissan GTR.

BOSE - Buy Other Sound Equipment

they live off their name, overpriced stuff which looks good and sounds bassy. you could get better for cheaper usually apart from noise cancelling headphones.
