Guys, Maybe technically the wrong section, but I suspect more people looking in here may be able to help me !
A system I am building for a friend is misbehaving.
system is:
MSI 770 C45 mobo
X2 240 cpu
Geil Value DDR3 1333 ram
Asus 5770
Everything running stock.
Initially I suspected a problem with graphics card due to driver stopped working message when trying to run 3d apps, but I tried the graphics card in my pc and it worked fine.
Ran a few loops of memtest with the memory at rated speeds, and all was well.
So fresh instal of win7 64 and no graphics drivers installed , I started on prime testing and it would error within a minute.
Tried manually setting voltages on cpu and ram to spec with no change.
I have just dropped the ram to 400 and it is priming away well so far.
Given that the ram passed memtest 4.00 @ its rated 667, I dont understand why !
Could the cpu's mem controller be faulty ?
