I'm planning on reinstalling windows 7.

I currently have Home Premium installed but have a copy of Pro thanks to college.

My dillema is will my programs i have installed on my d: still work if i use back up and restore?

I have a 60GB solid state drive as C: and most of my programs / all my games are on a 1TB Drive i use as D:

Will i have to reinstall them all?

Thanks in advance,
Derek

you could try putting disk in and trying upgrade, but I'm not sure if it will work...however, a new re-install always works best!

Thing is, The pro version is a non upgradable ISO and Serial. I was hoping i could simply unlock the features using the uprgade tool but unfortunatly not possible.

Yes, this is because Windows anytime upgrade is limited to certain version paths.

I think I know what you mean, you have manually linked all your programs to the D drive, rather than using the default path to the C drive.

I'm pretty certain that the windows backup and restore doesn't work like that anymore, and I only ever used it once on XP and that was to the same version again rather than to an upgraded version as you wish to proceed.
