Hi,

I have a Virgin cable modem and have it connected to my old SKY Netgear ASDL wireless router via an ethernet cable but I can't get it to send out a wireless connection. The wireless light on the router is not lit up.

Is this because I have to connect it via a ADSL connection to get wireless? My PC and PS3 all work fine with ethernet cables conneted but I need to get the wireless laptop working.

Do I need to get a wireless cable Modem not a ASDL.

Many thanks.

Both PS3 & PC are connected to the netgear via ethernet cables with no problems. I have a wireless laptop that works fine at work but not at home.

It's a ASDL moden which was designed for SKY broadband and has an ASDL connection and 4x ethernet connections. Do I have to connect my cable modem via the ASDL connection to enable wireless?

My Virgin modem is connected via ethernet which in turn enables my PC & ps3 to work which are also connected via ethernet. But the moden does not output any wireless connection for the laptop to pick up. This is why I am thinking that I may have to get a Cable Ethernet router which connects via ethernet rather than ASDL.

I can't see what I can do via the laptop to get the router to give a wireless connection.

Okay thanks.

So I need to connect my pc and go to the built in web page. http:/192.168.1.1 or similar.

How do I know what the webpage is for my router??
