Help with XBOX360 via Monitor

Any chance of making that screenshot large enough so we can actually read it?! :)

IIRC there is a separate page of level controls for Recording as opposed to the Playback ones you're looking at there. I'm running Vista so am working from memory here but you need to go into the first menu item on the volume control page and choose "Recording" rather than Playback. You should then see a control for the mic.

Check to see that on the 'Recording' page that line in is selected, and not muted.

Also, on that MSI config window - can't really read it - but is the blue socket set for line in? (In some soundcards sockets can be multipurpose and you have to select what you want)

Thanks for the help guys.

I have "Line In" ticked on the recording control.

On the Master Volume for output control, nothing is muted and everything is up high.

The Red and White connectors from the XBOX HD VGA cable is in the "Y" connector and into the BLUE slot on my PC. My speakers are connected GREEN TO GREEN!

Yes it is Line and the green socket is Line Out, is this correct?

Does this sound right?

All sounds fine, should be getting sound through, I just checked mine and I don't have line in ticked and selected on the recording page, just the playback screen have it un-muted which you seem to have.

IIRC on my pc it was the Realtek jobbie that stuffed me up, I can't remember for the life of me what I had to do to get it working but it was definitely the Realtek interface I needed to use. Can you click on the Blue input to show further screens and there are two sliders (one or both of which needed to be pushed up/to the right?).

I'm flying a bit blind here and from memory, I'm on my laptop and now on the main pc..!

This is what i am seeing when i click on the icon next to the BLUE circle, in Realtek:

But i cant find any sliders in places they shoul'nt be!....This is driving me ****ing crazy :(

Cheers :)

I have just got hold of another set of speakers.

They have 4 slots in the back of the subwoofer.

2 x Audio In
2 x Speaker Out

Can anyone tell me how this should set up?

If that does'nt work it is definatly the Realtek, as i have connected DIRECT from 360 to speakers and....SOUND:)

BUT... I want ONE set of speakers NOT two.

Please HelP!!!!

Cheers :)

I imagine you put the red and white from the VGA cable into the 2x audio in, then the 2 speakers to the out and should work

This does but i want it setup so i can use the speakers for both PC and 360 without switching.

For this i believe you use the "Y" connector and but that in audio in and the speakers are in audio out.

This though doesnt seem to work....either the settings in the PC arent right (Realtek/MSI Mobo) or the blue connector on my Mobo is faulty????

Cheers :)

Rather stupid question as I don't know the answer (not familiar with your monitor)

but does it have built in speakers?

If so just plug the little 2-1 connector you got with the vga lead into the line in plug on the monitor.

This is what I am doing on my belina for the wife. :)

It has built in speakers mate but i really wanted surround sound....XBOX 360 and all!

Will have a look to see what that would sound like!

Cheers :)
