Bah, so annoyed . . . Told the garage I'd be round first thing this morning to collect my car. When I get there it's all done except for the undertray to which I am told 'just swing round tomorrow morning'. I live very close so getting it home wasn't an issue.

But now it's my only car, and I need to get to work, which is over 50 miles away. Still half asleep (had to get up early to pick it up) . . would you do it? =/

Bit more awake, bit more annoyed, but I figure it's all main roads and if I take it easy there shouldn't be any issues. Just can't handle any more time off =/

If it helps, the undertray didn't fit with my intercooler piping so I didn't use it.

Was perfectly fine for well over a year.

Have you actually seen it? It won't be protecting sweet FA in my opinion.

Oh and that was under all sorts of driving conditions, including on the limiter in 5th gear! The car was lowered as well.

I ran for ages without an undertray when I knocked it off :)

No problems really, after all it is just a piece of plastic that takes the scratches rather than your (usually that is) metal sump...

Same here. Wrecked mine driving through a ford too many times and filling it with water. Took it off 2 years ago.

drove for a while without 2 bits of the 3.
i then ordered the main one, and then the side one after 6 months or so.
they're rather expensive for what they are..

Thanks guys, I figured as much... Just really had my confidence with all things cars knocked a bit recently. Volvo Died of HGF last week, then i was driving my mums car which has now starting running very hot as well =/

I was just worry something would jump up into my belts or something, but hey I've done the 50 mile journey this morning and I'm still here :)

Undertray fell off my Leon at around 30k miles, didnt have it replaced until 103k. Was absolutely fine :)

I've followed many a VAG car on the Motorway and observed that the undertray is flapping around, do the clips break or are the dealers too stupid to work out how to put them back properly?

Mine snapped all round the rear clips meaning it started dragging on the floor, so i ripped it off at the side of the road as it was creating a racket. It needed a completely new undertray of which at every service between 30k and 103k the dealer forgot to order it hence the delay.

It appears the same with the MR2 as the undertray sections front of the engine direct air up into the bay.

I'm sure it makes sweet FA difference though. :)
