My mates OS has stopped recognisin his cd drive, I checked it and the BIOS has it as secondary master but in device manager in XP it has a little exclamation mark next to it. He swapped the cables round but no result. I was gonna try puttin it in mine to see if it works in there but he tried a virtual drive with daemon tools and it says it with that as well so I'm assumin it isnt his drive.
The drive powers on and you can open it and things so that isnt it, tried updatin driver but nothin found. I suggested updatin the firmware but I'm not clear on how you do that so I wondered if there was a setting or somethin I had missed.
