I've taken my girlfriend's pc apart today for a much needed spring clean and I can't get the cpu reslotted (I've already had to straighten a bent pin) because it's well and trully stuck to the heatsink via some sliver of metal, I understand that over time the compound can cause the cpu to stick but this seems to be glued. So, without risking the wraith of my good lady and the death of a cpu, how can I get this fixed, is it just going to be a slow process of 'scraping' the cpu off the heatsink?

Her pc's a Dell Optiplex GL260, I can supply pictures if needed, mainly to show what I mean by the random sliver of metal.

Thanks in advance.

just put a knife between and it should pop off.. i had this problem a few times with stock amd heatsinks
