HELP !!!!!!!!!

none of them they all suck compared to a high end pc,i know as i have all and the consoles never ever get turned on in my house as they are obsolete to a good pc

Lol at the last few silly responses, why is the PS3 the best and why should he get it for his kids?

bearing in mind still dont know his kids ages I'd say the 360 as it seems the most well rounded platform.

ps3 all day long , xbox fails a lot with rrod.

It isn't really as much as an issue these days as MS pretty much offer a lifetime warranty, you're right, the product should have never hit the shelves as it was, but with several hardware revisions it is now bordering on acceptable. I prefer my PS3 but the 360 hardware issues are something i'm willing to overlook these days.

Cool, enjoy not playing Killzone 2, Infamous, Metal Gear Solid 4, Valkryia Chronicles, Rockband, Little Big Planet, Lost Odyssey, Warhawk, Uncharted, Crackdown, Dead Rising, God of War 3, Heavy Rain, MAG, Resistance 2 etc etc etc.

To put a long story short, yes the PC is superior in terms of hardware and performance, but to say you should ignore consoles because of that is mental. Nearly all of my favourite games of the past year haven't been available on the PC and to miss out on them just because their graphics are inferior is just a blinkered view.

None of them compare to a high end PC. Correct.

That's because they're completely different.

I have all three, and a high spec PC, and I wouldn't get rid of one of them. Each console usually gets used at least every other day.

Just bought a PS3 so I now have 360/Wii/PS3. I used to play a lot of the 360 but just not played it in a awhile so thought I'd give a PS3 a whirl. The Wii on the otherhand I have never really played since buying it. Girlfriend has played it a lot more than me but neither of us have played it in about 12 months!

The Wii does hae some good games, Mario/Zelda and some good party games but if you like a more serious console go for 360/PS3. Both have their ups/downs but if money is no objection than grab a PS3 and some 2nd hand games.

if you want to get something bit cheaper than get a 360, nothing wrong with either console but PS3 does have blu ray which is something I've wanted for ages!

like i said i have all 3 consoles,ps3 is only good for mgs4 which i finished long ago, xbox crap and the wii only gets used by my girlfriend when here mates come around...

they are good for the money that you pay...300 pound ish but i feel as time is going on consoles are getting worse,i wish i never bought the ps3 or xbox, wii is ok cause its different but still aint nothing special

if i had to choose out of the xbox and ps3 it would be the ps3 all day long

I really was thinking about replying seriously, but I think it would be a waste of breath.

Tbf though there are loads of games on the consoles that aren't on PC. The PC always gets a lot of the multiplatform games a lot later and most are just console ports anyway. Being tied to the PC just means you miss out on games tbh.

Xbox 360, controller is better, system is better, Natal and more games.

/thread

Not quite as clear cut as this.
Easier to program for != better system. I think the PS3 is a far superior system i.t.o. build quality, feature set, etc.

More games != better games.

Also, from what I've seen from E3, the Sony "dildos" have more "hard core" gamer applications that Natal.

(I own both 360 & PS3 btw)

Kids ususally want what all their mates have. So I would simply ask them what they would like to have.

I have had a 360 and a PS3 and I'd still buy most games for PC simply because they are usually 10 quid cheaper and you don't have to pay for new content. (See COD:WAW map packs for instance.)

I have a quick question regarding the ps3 streaming. Why do most people say that the Ps3 is the better console to stream media ?

I've had my PC linked with my xbox for ages so I can stream videos from my PC on the big screen. I've never had a problem with it at all.

So is there an actual real reason behind saying ps3 is the better media streamer ?
This is proberbly something I should have looked into when I got the ps3 :p

And anyway, if it's for your kids then just get them the same as whatever their mates have so the can swap games and take their controllers round to their friends house and play together.

Never mind what the best console is technically or what has the best games as it's not an issue - they won't care one way or the other.
