HELP!

Yeah when we went through the motions at the beginning of the thread it did seem like it was simply dead. Shame really.

And the RMA too, wth....

To be honest it's this kind of eventuality I avoid by not buying used stuff unless I've seen it working myself.

Have you tried booting the motherboard outside the case? It could be short, especially if it's booting from the switch on the PSU.

So there was physical damage to the motherboard, how was it packaged when you received it?

Was boxed in the Motherboard box, just the normal packaging.

Same, Wish I hadn't bought it now, thought I was getting a good deal

Yes, have tried it on the Motherboard box itself and same outcome.

Daft question but the motherboard is sat on brass bracers right so it isnt shorting?

Same as above.

This is not good, on the front of the motherboard box I clearly labeled the return addess and contact information. Not only have OCUK refussed RMA they have now sent it back to the original buyer.

Maybe because the warranty is not transferable and there's nothing wrong with the motherboard. The original owner will get charged and you'll get nothing.

No, not yet. I thought it was madness but it isnt. Im going to email him tonight explaining the situation.

The is something wrong with the motherboard, its completely broken. I just want nothing to do with it now. Will have to pay the delivery cost for OCUK then dont even want it back. I just wish I didnt trust people saying it was working when it clearly isnt. THought it would be an esy solution, send it back to OCUK and get it fixed/replaced.

Well whats the reason ocuk are sending It back? From experience If you send in a presumably faulty product and It's found not faulty they send It back and charge you a fee.

So If It's faulty they would not be sending It back they would be fixing the problems or sending out a new motherboard.

The said the warrenty was void because there was scratches through the tracks on the motherboard.

I cant believe they sent it back the the orignial buyer, It was clearly labelled on the box and on the outer packages my address. They have effectively given away my motherboard, even if it was faulty.

Madness, did you test the motherboard prior to selling it? Are you sure it worked? It was out of the box you sent it to me in for about 6 hours and it fail instantly. I feel like this was broken before I bought it and now I have spent £75 for it, £9 delivery to OCUK and inevitably the £25 ish to have it sent to some guy I have never spoken to. This just sucks tbh.

Called OCUK, its been sent back to the original owner and charged the original owner. I emailed him last night and called him today and failed to get a response from either.

Apparently there were scratches going all the way through the motherboard which would cause it to fail to turn on/post, which is exactly what has happened. So by the sounds of it, I spent £75 on a broken motherboard and over £30 trying to get it fixed!

the reason your board was sent back to the original address is because the reciept your board is for is for the original buyer.
warranty is not transferrable, if you had read the returns email that was sent out to you when the rma was created you would have seen the section on return shipping and also the section on rejections.

but you wouldnt have recieved this email as you were not the original buyer.

i suggest you contact the person who sold you the motherboard. as you were not the original buyer, there is very little OcUK can actually do for you.

I have received your email referencing this thread, demanding a refund and "accusing me" for selling you a damaged board  which I find ridiculous, the board was 100% working, it was taken out of the system the day I advertised it here and there were no issues / damage to it at all, the pictures should still be up in my original thread and I should have the detailed pics of it on my camera. Are you sure you did not "damage it" whilst installing it in your system.

"Apparently there were scratches going all the way through the motherboard which would cause it to fail to turn on/post" if that was the case surely you would have noticed something like this when you received it, or when assembling your system, no?

I'm not sure who the original owner is, I will check through my emails but it looks like you have tried contacting him (from your above posts).

Your putting the memory in the wrong slots

The system wont boot with the mem in slots in only 1 or 3.

2 and 4 must be filled first before filling 1 or 3.

Lol I wonder how many issues this has caused in the past. I have solved this for someone else with a multi page thread before.

In the end RTFM is a good rule, even if you are a long time computer user if you run into issues the mobo manual is port of call #1.
