Hi there,

Have you reinstalled windows on your hard disk after changing the motherboard?

Also are both the 24pin and 4pin power connections from the PSU to the motherboard properly connected?

If you don't have a disk - does that mean that you lost the lost/can't find the disk, or you are using a license from a pre-built computer where Windows was already installed, or was it something else entirely?

Unfortunately, that license that came with that pre-built computer is only for use with the original motherboard. If you change the motherboard then in micrsoft's eyes you need a new license as it is effect a new computer. Therefore the only legal options are to buy a new Winodows license (this is one of the cheapest ones) or go back to your old motherboard.

You can try, but legally it is tied to the original motherboard. If you replace the motherboard then you have made a new computer, so you need a new license.

Also, depending on how the OEM implemented the backup/reinstall procedure - you may be blocked from installing that copy of window on a new board.

Rubbish IMHO.
The BSOD will not happen with a simple windows upgrade prob. This is likely a memory or motherboard problem. However once fixed MS might not let you install windoz without an upgrade, but it will not blue screen you.

i get this on the blue screen
