Hi Guys,

I've just got a xonar 7.1 DS sound card.

Very happy with it!. But I need some better headphones to go with it.

What would you suggest with this card??

I simply dont know :(

Hmm, well TBH, what I was going to recommend there would be little chance of that. Impatient eh, just like me. :p

Are you after headphones or a headset? Or I should say, do you require a mic?

To be honest, my main concern is sound quality. sod a mic :)

I know, I cant wait.. need before weekend haha!

What were you going to recommend, though ?

Goldring headphones. Either NS1000's or DR150's. Great headphones. You could spend £100 on a headset, that wouldn't sound as good. In fact I'd wager even Sennheiser's PC360 headset at £150+ wouldn't sound as good. Anyway, both cost a mere £50. There have been a lot of threads on both headphones, and many positive comments from people who have bought either headphones, after recommendations from many happy users, inc me.

What Hi-Fii have reviews of both, so you can go read up about them, if you want to see a more professional review.

Convinced.

Got some DR150's on next day delivery.

Do I need an amp or anything?

Thank you mate. :D

Nope, the NS1000's are best used with an amp, to avoid having to worry about the battery. The DR150's will work fine from any headphone socket. :)

I have the DR150's BTW. :)

When you get them, let them burn in for a while. Some people judge them as soon as they get them, saying there is too much treble. When they are run in, so to speak, that will mellow. :)
